This post is part of our Boring series, where one Tuesdays we sometimes post analyses on signs we did not find particularly interesting. The idea is to offset personal biases.
This here is an image of an installed manhole cover. The cover has some text on it, presumably technical product information that is meaningless to me. The cover also indexes that there is some sort of sewer going underneath. The sign vessel is unusually sturdy, and the manhole cover is more of a functional object than a sign in the sense of something made for the purpose of conveying information. Instead it mostly conveys water to the sewer.
