This dog sign, spotted near an elementary school in Espoo, Finland, is a quite typical "no dogs" sign. It is a bit weathered and depicts an iconic black silhouette of a generic terrier dog, with a red slashed circle "NO" symbol.
But what caught my attention was, that this was very high, more than two meters1 off the ground. I didn't even notice it, since I am not accustomed to looking for dog signs so high up. I wonder if it is lifted high as a children's prank, or perhaps to protect it from pranks? In any case, I would argue for a reduced effectiveness as it is harder to spot here.
