This sign was posted on the door of a supermarket in Mäntyharju, Finland. It depicts three symbols of a dog, a scooter and a skateboard, each with a line across them, with the text "Alueella on tallentava kameravalvonta" ("Recording CCTV in area") below, together with the store logo.
The immediate signal here is clear; no dogs, no scooters and no skateboards, with the implied panopticon warning that the tentative transgressor is being watched.
What caught my attention more, however, was how these three particular things were clustered together. Implying that they share a common denominator of presumably disturbing other customers?
