This post is part of our Boring series, where one Tuesdays we sometimes post analyses on signs we did not find particularly interesting. The idea is to offset personal biases.
This is a picture of a packet of paper towels I took at my home. We have the large text "PAPER TOWELS" with four pictorial signs below; a stylised "S" logo of the S-group grocery stores, an icon of two square sheets with a "2X" superimposed on it, an icon of a roll with a "4" on it, and a special symbol that combines a key with a Finnish flag, signalling Finnish origin.
To be honest, this is not purely boring, since even though it is very mundane, it did caught my attention a bit! I found it curious that the two icons on this packet, the ones telling it's two ply and there are four rolls of it, would be quite hard to interpret without the context that they are located in a paper towel package.
